behold & be held, my first album, is an intimate, homespun tapestry of melodies and words emerging from inner and outer landscapes during these in-between times.

If you choose to download the digital album on Bandcamp, half of the sale proceeds will be donated to grassroots Indigenous-led efforts where I live, via the Honor Native Land Tax; the other half will support continued musical creation. Thanks to Erin Elder for beautiful album art.

These New Mexico Nigunim (2022) are a series of (mostly) wordless melodies emerging spontaneously from the dialogue between my soul and being, the ancestors, and the land in which I dwell. Offered here as unembellished musical sketches recorded from home, these are melodies you’re welcome to sing alone or with others—to draw down joy, awaken wonder, uplift community, or to express longing and praise wherever you are and wherever you go.

Thanks for listening!

Songwriting became an unexpected anchor for me during the pandemic: a practice for directing attention amidst turbulence, for returning to wonder and reverence amidst uncertainty, for stumbling toward mystery, even—or especially—when the path is hard to come by. My hope is that you’ll find at least one song in here that resonates with the wonderings and wanderings of your own heart.

A note: These are not glossy productions. Recorded without preciousness from home, they have a kind of pandemic sparseness to them: just my voice(s) and a baritone ukulele. I hope to one day collaborate with other musicians. If you want to explore collaboration, drop a line!
